Forage Base Introductions

Freshwater Shrimp (Gammarus lacustris)
Gammarus lacustris

Freshwater Shrimp

Through years of extensive research, CFI has pioneered an aquatic amphipod breeding program of the Gammarus lacustris freshwater shrimp. This high-protein, carotene-rich scud produces tremendous growth rates in the gamefish that prey on them.  Whether introducing a scud population into a new fishery, or propelling the productivity of an existing one, the Gammarus lacustris is a proven way to ensure an extremely high quality, productive fishery

Fathead Minnows

Baitfish are another important forage base, and necessary to maintain healthy populations of piscivorous (fish-eating) gamefish. CFI offers stocking of fathead minnows to boost forage supplies in lake and pond environments.
